~A note from the Editor~

Over the course of her career, Ms. Atwater has made many friends and, ultimately, many enemies.  Her contentious personality and insistence on complete editorial control of her work has gotten her into more trouble than even she would care to admit.

Cries of libel, and their subsequent lawsuits, have followed her doggedly over the years.  By and large, many of these suits have been settled out of court, due in large part to the powerful influence of the Hearst organization.

(Curiously, most of her efforts from 2002 have dodged this bullet.  It is widely believed that this was the year that Ms. Atwood briefly flirted with the drug, Paxil).

Still, much of her body of work remains tied up in litigation.

It is the hope of this editor that as Ms. Atwater's writings become available they will find a home on this site.  Ultimately, this will allow the true length and breadth of her work to become available to new generations of movie goers.

So, to paraphrase a much-used slogan favored by billboard and bus-stop bench advertisers everywhere...
